General Guidelines
1. Before reporting for a shift, bell ringers will be provided with a national training video that includes how to perform their duties and engage with the public safely and courteously. Please dress in appropriate attire that is clean and orderly. There will be an identifying name tag or smock available to identify you, the bell ringer, as a volunteer for the Salvation Army. These items will be stored in the Salvation Army Tubs located at the storage point of each store. Or said smock and tools will be handed over to you by the previous volunteer. Store storage areas will be identified & locations sent to you once you have indicated which stores you have interest in.
2. Please leave the area clean and always tidy. You may bring a stool to sit on for your comfort or even a small portable heater. Hand warmers are encouraged. BE FESTIVE! Store goers really appreciate a festive bellringer!
3. Kettles and/or kettle signs are enabled with Apple/Google Pay technology for an additional contactless form of donation.
4. Please do not leave kettles unattended. At the end of each day, a Belfair Community Church member will collect the donations for deposit at the bank.
The Salvation Army will provide a contact representative and will assume total responsibility for the placement and care of the red kettles, signage, bell ringers, collection of and accounting for donations, set-up and take-down. In addition, in consultation with the local store management, The Salvation Army will assure that the bell ringers will be appropriately attired and identified in a manner that will complement the image of the establishment.
